Two upcoming Manhattan events will focus on the music and life of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco: the first will be hosted by the New York City Classical Guitar Society on 15 May, and the second will be presented by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Centro Primo Levi on 17 May.
On Tuesday, 15 May at 7:30 pm the New York City Classical Guitar Society will present Luigi Attademo in a concert featuring several of the Florentine composer’s best-known guitar works. On Thursday, 17 May at 6:00 pm Castelnuovo-Tedesco will be the subject of the fourth in a series of evenings dedicated to “Exile and Creativity” at the Italian Cultural Institute. Co-presented with the Centro Primo Levi, the evening will include an introduction by Professor Tina Fruehauf of Columbia University, followed by a performance of The Divan of Moses-Ibn-Ezra by Tookah Sapper, soprano, and Luigi Attademo, guitar.
