For those interested in learning more about Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s early years in Florence, Professor Eleonora Negri and colleagues at the Lyceum Club Internationale Firenze have created a new online exhibition. Now available in English, the exhibition chronicles the composer’s path and the teachers who helped shape his development.

Archival photographs, books, and scores from Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Florentine library, now held at the Lyceum Club, comprise the show. In his early years, Castelnuovo-Tedesco performed on numerous occasions at the Florence Lyceum Club, which originated in London in 1904 and opened its Florentine branch in 1908. Its long-standing commitment to presenting relevant, distinguished cultural events and its long history with Castelnuovo-Tedesco made the Lyceum Club the perfect home for these mementos of his early years.
