Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s bifurcated life and his specific contributions to the clarinet repertoire, written during his years in America, are explored in the March 2019 issue of The Clarinet Journal of the International Clarinet Association.
Professor Eric Schultz discusses the Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Opus 128 (1944-1945), and the Pastorale and Rondò for clarinet, piano, cello and violin, Opus 185 (1958). Both pieces are published by Casa Ricordi and available at Music Shop Europe.
Of the composer’s clarinet works Schultz says: “…it is time to advocate for them to be remembered, studied, and at minimum performed more often”. You can read the entire article here.
